What is an A/C support bracket?

A/C support brackets are little ledges that stick out from the window to provide a traditional window A/C more support both during install and then afterwards as well. Here's what they usually look like:

 

 

Does July need a support bracket?

In short: no. The patented July installation frame makes installation perfectly safe, and greatly reduces any fall risk. 

Still, if you would like to use a bracket for extra security or your building or city requires one, July will work with most standard window A/C brackets. 

 

Myth-busting: NYC does not require a window A/C bracket. 

Many people believe that New York City requires all window A/Cs to have a bracket. The truth is, this is not required by the City. However, your building management may require it. 

Before you buy, check your city's regulations and our own building rules to make sure you only get the bracket if you need it.
